OUR TEAM
Kolton Fuller - Owner
For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for fabrication. Growing up on a farm, I was often building things or tinkering in my free time. I always said that when I grew up, I was going to be an "Inventor." Like any kid growing up in the early 2000's, Lego was my absolute favorite toy. I spent countless hours creating ludicrous designs and seeing just how far I could go with the little plastic blocks. At 10 years old, I got my hands on an old buzz-box stick welder and starting welding rusty, old, pieces of metal together. And with that, it was like a door opened for me, and a flood of new opportunities were presented.
Throughout my teens, I did everything I could to expand my knowledge of metalwork. I took every shop class that was offered, restored vehicles in my free time, and in my final year of high school, I took the Foundations Welding Course offered by Vancouver Island University. It was the first true step to starting my career in fabrication and welding.
In my early adult life, I had the opportunity to learn from some truly skilled individuals. Their knowledge allowed me to grow and hone my skills to a whole new level. I will forever be thankful to them, as the skills I learned eventually granted me the position of Lead Fabricator and Shop Foreman in multiple welding shops. In these positions, I was designing and creating completely unique products for multi-million dollar homes. It was an amazing experience, and every new project offered its own challenges to embrace and overcome.
Despite my higher position within these companies, I never truly felt like I fit in; I was never part of the cliques that formed. There was always mutual respect between me and my coworkers, but our interests outside of work never aligned the same way. I often felt like an outsider, like I was a walking contradiction. I grew up on a farm, learning different trades, building trucks, and working on heavy equipment. But, I'm also a complete nerd who adores sci-fi and fantasy, going on hikes, and playing video games. It was an interesting conflict that I had to overcome, but as I got older, I began to embrace how I was feeling. I accepted that I might never fit in. I accepted that I was a black sheep.
Now, with more than a decade of experience in the industry, I have decided to open my own fabrication business, and fully incorporate who I am as a black sheep into the business. I want to offer my clients truly unique products, alongside a professional experience. I look forward to hearing from you!
